Traveling as a solo female could be a wonderful experience if you plan and follow some safety tips.
Regardless of what friends and family might say and constantly warn you against traveling alone, traveling as a solo female could be rewarding, unforgettable, and unregretful. Do not wait for friends, family, or a significant other to appear and decide to have your advisories.

follow the next tips when going abroad:
NUMBER ONE IN THE LIST: ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND ADVISORIES
Research first your intended destination’s consulate web page or if you are a us citizen visit travel.state.gov for the entry requirements and advisories.
Learn about the country’s culture and important rules and regulations.
STAYS
Before booking your stay, research the area thoroughly and I recommend looking for an American chain hotel if within your budget. An alternative more budget friendly option is Tripadvisor. They are several local hotels on this site with plenty of reviews that offer a better deal. Watch out for reviews with too many negative comments.
Airbnb’s my favorite option because I get personalized attention and it has saved me money tons of money while traveling. I always look for Superhosts and those with at least 50 reviews.
Airbnb would give you a general location of the stay before booking. Go to Google maps and search what types of restaurants and shops are within the vicinity. Are these reputable locations?
I have never tried hostels but I heard they are an affordable option to stay in. Again, always read all the reviews and make sure they aren’t too many negative ones. I have seen nice ones in Barcelona and it could be a cool way of meeting other solo travelers.
TRANSPORTATION
Search for different ways to get in and out of your stay and to the airport:
Are there available buses, trains, subs, or taxis?
Is UBER or a legit car-sharing app available in this country?
Does your hotel or hostel offer airport transportation?
How are you getting to your stay from the airport?
I prefer car sharing IF I am staying late somewhere because it is contactless, there is no payment involved and you can confirm the ride by the tag shown on the APP.
Find out if public transportation is contactless or there if you need to purchase a re-loadable card.
Be aware of exchange fees from your bank. Most credit and debit cards charge this fee. They are a few cards like Capital One Venture that do not charge exchange fees.
VALUABLES
Have a pre-paid debit card that you can use abroad or credit card theft protection.
Carry only the necessary cash with you.
Carry your valuables inside a crossbody bag with RFID protection. I use this one for all my trips:
This bag looks small but it have several spacious compartments, it is made of a rfid protective material for your passport and cards. The zipper has a special lock and the straps are slash resistant. It could be using as a crossover bag or a waist bag.
Keep passport in a safe in your stay and a copy with you at all times.
Keep the jewelry to the minimum, or none. If using any try using plastic or with very little value.
WHERE TO GO
Book small tours through Airbnb Experiences, TripAdvisor, or Viator. Do your Research and look for reviews and if there will be others with your tour.
During the Tour keep it friendly without sharing too much information about yourself that could attract undesirable attraction.
FINALLY, KEEP A POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE
We attract what we think about and if you are always thinking something bad is going to happen you are right it could happen. The same is true if you think the contrary. Besides, you would not be able to enjoy your trip if you are thinking like this. Of course, always keep your eyes open and take plenty of pictures, and if possible upload them to your social media, This way your family, friends, and loved ones always know where are you, okay, and having fun.
I am pretty sure they could be more safety tips when traveling solo as a female but these basic ones kept me from having headache.
Have a fun and wonderful trip!!
