When choosing an ultra-low-cost airline there aren’t any comfortable or better seats to choose from. Or if flying with Southwest Airlines, all seats are pretty comfortable anyway. But, when it comes to regular or typical airlines like United, Delta, Iberia, Lufthansa, Copa Airlines, and the like, certain seats could be more comfortable.
- Exit seats offer the most room, but these seats aren’t available to everyone. Certain requirements must be met (ex. Not traveling with pets or an infant).
- The last row of seats on the plane. Generally, these are the seats that no one chooses from, and sometimes end up with empty seats in between (if the flight is not full). A bonus: the restrooms are right behind you.
- The few rows right after business class, usually have more space in between, however, in most cases you will have to pay extra for these seats.
- The seats are by the window. These seats have more space under the front seat to put your stuff and rest your feet, unlike the aisle seat which doesn’t have as much space to place your items.
At, the end of the day, you get what you pay for and paying some extra is worth the comfort and arriving without aches and pains of seating in an uncomfortable seat, especially during a long-haul flight. Most of the seats mentioned above would cost you extra, except for the exit seats (in some airlines these are an extra charge). I think the extra is worth it.
