For the frequent flyer I would recommend applying for the US Global Entry or TSA pre-check, this program can save a lot of time and stress previous to your flight. Other tips to consider:
1. Drink lots of water.
Carry a refillable water bottle that you can refill after a security check at most airports. Keeping yourself hydrated can help with bloating and constipation. Since the cabin is low in humidity the body starts pulling fluid.
2. Wear loose clothes, especially around the waist.
Again, being in a cabin with low humidity increases the tendency to become constipated and bloated. Wear comfortable clothes to be able to bear these symptoms.
3. Use comfortable shoes or sneakers and comfy socks.
Most airlines provide a small blanket and socks if flying business class. If you don’t get prepared with these items, an eye mask and mini pillow. It gets really cold high up in the air.
3. Bring dry snacks
Not fruits or vegetables if flying internationally to avoid issues with customs. Most airlines provide meals on flights of 7 hours or more but it is good to have extra snacks.
4. Carry some gum or sour candy.
This is handy whenever you feel earaches or air popping in your ears.
5, Bring your entertainment.
Most long flights provide wifi or movies but just in case carry some type of entertainment like books, download movies from Amazon Prime or another app previous to your flight, or/and download music from sources like Pandora or Spotify to be able to listen to if not able to connect to a WIFI source.
6. Bring a pen or two.
If flying internationally, you will most likely need to fill out customs or entry forms.
7. Bring an extra battery bank and charger for your phone.
Most likely will run out of batteries during a long-haul flight, although most airlines offer power connections on their seats.
8. Carry toiletries of 3.4 ounces or less (confirm with TSA for the latest allowed sizes) in your carry-on bag.
Limit the weight and unnecessary stuff in your carry-on. By the time you arrive at your destination, you could be too tired and jetlag to haul heavy items. Keep your carry-on light.
